| Description |
Gilman Contemporary is excited to exhibit John Westmark's unique paintings. Westmark uses paper sewing patterns and paint to create dynamic figures. The sewing patterns are used to reinterpret their usual function, presenting the figures either as agents of revolt in the form of resolute warriors or within the controlled setting of the formal societal portrait.
Themes of redemption and survival, transcendence, man-made or otherwise, objectivism, ambiguity, strength and courage play out within his narratives. Please Join us for Gallery Walk, Friday December 28th, 5-8pm Exhibition runs December 14th ~ January 20th. |
