Camas Lilies are starting to bloom on the East end of the Camas Prairie and they should be in full bloom at the Camas Centennial Marsh come June 2 and 3rd during the Camas Lily Days. Shoshone - Bannock Tribes Camas Prairie Homecoming! Camas Lily Days, sponsored by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, is the annual return by the Shoshone and Bannock tribes to their historical home ground and camas harvest spot in the high desert valley of Camas Creek. The highlight of the homecoming is a traditional relay run, on Saturday, from Fairfield westward to the Centennial Marsh, and a spectacular program, Sunday afternoon of native dancing in the Fairfield park by dancers wearing traditional costumes. Additional there will be 5K and 10k walk or run on Sunday. A naturalist and Sun Valley local birder, Larry Barnes will be at the race finish line at the Observation area of the Centennial Marsh from 10 to 2 on Sunday sharing birding and local flora and fauna information. Local arts and crafts as well as food vendors will be at the park both day. Breakfast will also be available.
