Sun Valley's Most Romantic Dining Hideaways
If you’re looking for a date night in Ketchum/Sun Valley, Idaho, there are many romantic nuggets tucked away that can make you feel miles from home. Here is a list of some of the most intimate dinner spots in the Wood River Valley, perfect for snuggling up and playing footsie.
You can ride the Gondola up 7700ft of Bald Mountain and get dropped off at the doorstep of Roundhouse Lodge. There’s a crackling fire, elk antler chandeliers and great views of the stars above and Ketchum glittering below. Visit here to view the menu.
This small historic cabin is tucked in the heart of downtown Ketchum. With only eight tables, it is small and charming—one of the best kept secrets in town. Try the famous crispy duck and the “Delights of the Naked Stranger” chocolate torte for dessert. Specials change nightly and reservations are definitely recommended.
Every few weeks in winter, you can have a four-course “Full Moon Dinner” at the Galena Lodge, located on the cusp of the Sawtooth Wilderness. After dinner, you can rent snowshoes and go hiking under the stars.
Classic candlelit Italian and white linen tablecloths are all you need to feel right at home in il Naso. You can come early and have a drink in the wine bar, snacking on some cured meats, cheeses and olives. A menu can be found here.
Attached to a newly remodeled boutique hotel, this upscale restaurant and bar has the best outdoor deck in town. Be sure to try the authentic Weiner Schnitzel and calamari appetizer.
One of Hailey’s culinary gems, CK’s offers “real food” that is sourced locally and slowly cooked to perfection. The chef, CK himself, is renowned among locals, tourists and chefs alike.
Voted by Wine Enthusiast as one of top ten best new restaurants in the country in 2003, this swanky hotspot has unbelievable sushi, apps and entrees flown in fresh from Hawaii. Wash it down with a specialty cocktail in the martini bar, like the Asian pear martini with ginger vodka.

If you’re in the mood for some buttery escargot or morel mushrooms sauce with pomme frites, head to this fine-dining (and very French) establishment. The popular “Olympic Bar” is a great place to grab a cocktail and mingle with the infamous owner, Michel, before dinner downstairs.
It’s not always easy to find Asian-infused cuisine (that’s done right) in the middle of Idaho, but Globus is one such place. Eclectic and veggie-focused, they have a healthy menu unlike any other you’ll find in Ketchum. photo by Paulette Phlipot.
