The Stirring Renditions

Sun Valley resident Marion Constable enjoys the vino at the picnic in Warm Springs

The Sun Valley Center for the Art’s 28th Annual Wine Gala was, as usual, as a swimming success. The weekend of wine is done and gone, but what it left behind is some $700,000 in funds raised for Sun Valley Center’s scholarships and programs. It was an all-fun event for an all-good cause. With this accomplished, all we have to concern ourselves with is music: chamber, reggae, rock, flamingo, country, theatrical, folk and jazz. I kid you not. The Valley is aflutter and it’s inspiring to see (and listen to) such a civic and civilized bustling. Next week we may have to see an ear specialist.

Tonight’s repertoire features Jon Nakamatsu on piano performing Handel, Halvorsen and Brahms, as well a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
