02/07/11Turbulent TimesApparently every couple comes to the point in their wedding planning when they just want to pull their hair out. I know to a lot of you it may seem like I've been at that point for most of the planning process, but I think I can officially say I'm now REALLY AT THAT POINT. No those aren't just freshly cut bangs . . . And the raccoon eyes aren't a hot new trend, despite how edgy they may look - it's just my Cover Girl lash-blast being liquefied by some excessive cornea moisture. So, yes, it's safe to say that this past week has been a brutally turbulent time in my wedding planning world. The non-existent ceremony location is right at the top of my list of stresses. Yup, that's right. I have nowhere to get married. My absolutely fabulous, sensational, smashingly perfect location... Posted at 12:42 PM | Permalink | Comments: 2 |

01/20/11Laurie & DanIn the last few weeks I've started a love affair with skate skiing, despite the fact that I look like Bambi out there. I started timidly at a free ski clinic up at Galena over a bluebird weekend—and as we ventured out on the trails I had to stop repeatedly to adjust my equipment (ie catch my breath and pound on my quads - jeeze I'm out of shape) but during my "pole adjusting" breaks I was completely taken back by how gorgeous it is up there. I mean take your breath away beauty (and I'm not just talking out being winded from working out). I've been to a number of summer weddings at Galena and they're all beautiful. But Galena after a fresh snow is really magical. I kept wishing I could have talked Chatham into a winter wedding!! Thankfully I've been able to live... Posted at 11:08 AM | Permalink | Comments: 4 |

01/11/11'tis the Season of Engagements! With 19% of all engagements happening over the holidays, I thought it only fitting that I share with you not only my own proposal, but the stories of 5 other brides-to-be as well. Emotions seem to run high during an engagement and maybe that’s why almost all of these stories made me tear up a little. Plus, getting to oooh and aahh over gorgeous engagement rings is always so much fun! So enjoy these stories, feel free to share your own with us and good luck planning your up coming Sun Valley wedding! Chatham & Charlotte Almost 40 years ago Tarrah, Chatham's mom, was traveling through Yugoslavia, now Croatia. She was slotted for a year long trip around the world, but decided to cut her travelling short and head home to marry her fiance, John. A man whom she had... 01/05/11Registering LocallyHappy New Year everyone! What an amazing holiday season it was. I got fresh powder turns with great friends and the arctic blast that came through gave me an excuse to just cuddle up on the couch with a cup of tea, terrible television and a hideous Snuggie. It really is my favorite time of year, and when that white fluffy stuff decides to top things off and fall from the sky, it just reinforces even further why I've chosen to make my life here. It's great to see all the stores jam packed with vacationers too. Fighting over produce at our local grocery store and cruising through town with Christmas trees tethered to the top of their cars. Other than the summer season, December and January are the main months that sustain our local economy and keep our community vibrant and... Posted at 09:51 AM | Permalink | Comments: 1 |

12/16/10Brooke And KyleWith new snow, icy cold mornings and powder turns abounding, I thought now was the perfect time to showcase Brooke and Kyle's on-mountain wedding. With all my wedding planning stress this humble beautiful ceremony seems like heaven! Just family, cigars, prayer flags, champagne and skiing. Brooke and Kyle hosted a yummy brunch at Three-Ten-Main in Hailey before heading up to the Mountain. So everyone was fed and ready to hit the slopes. And they were blessed with a famous Sun Valley blue bird day!! Brooke and Kyle also had a big fun party the summer after they were married with great bands, local food and flowers picked from the garden. But with winter among us, their ceremony seemed most fitting. I'm not sure the logistics of a wedding at the top of Baldy. I know in the summer there... Posted at 12:47 PM | Permalink | Comments: 2 |
